SANY excavators on a road infrastructure project
The goal was to finish earthworks for a road corridor on schedule and hand over to the pavement stage without delay. Cutting, loading and profiling ran in parallel, so fleet coordination was critical. SANY mid-tonnage excavators sat at the centre of that flow.
Project context
Volumes were high, the corridor was long and weather was variable. The contractor had to keep several zones open at once. In a traditional setup, delay in one zone stalled the next. Machines with stable hydraulics and predictable cycle times were selected.
Technical solution
A SANY excavator fleet was positioned to cut and load in parallel. Operator comfort helped hold tempo on long shifts. Spare-part readiness and local technical support kept unplanned downtime low.
Workflow
- Pre-split earth volumes by zone
- Put excavator–haul tandems into the shift plan
- Run daily profile checks
- Review risks and contingencies in evening briefings
Results
Progress stayed on the planned schedule. Downtime remained low and field service responded quickly. Once earthworks finished, the pavement team could start without a pause.
Lessons learned
On road projects success depends less on machine count alone and more on fleet fit plus service readiness. The SANY Azerbaijan model — right tonnage + local support — repeats well on this type of infrastructure work.
